The Atlanta Jamaican Association is organizing a function to commemorate the Bicentenary
of the Abolition of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in 1807 by the British Parliament.
The function is being planned by the Cultural Committee of the Association and will
be held at the Hillside Presbyterian Church Hall, 1879 Columbia Drive, Decatur,
on Saturday March 17, beginning at 5.00 p.m. The theme selected for the occasion
is “Thus far have we come”. Dr. Verene Shepherd., Professor of History at the University
