AJA launches 1st MEGA CAR RAFFLE 

THE DATE OF THE DRAWING IN THE ATLANTA JAMAIAICAN ASSOCIATION INC. MEGA RAFFLE HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM NOVEMBER 1, 2008 TO SATURDAY JANUARY 31, 2009 in keeping with the Rules governing the raffle. To all our many supporters who have already bought tickets, please be assured that your tickets remain valid for the new drawing date. We regret any inconvenience this change may cause and look forward to your continued support.

The Atlanta Jamaican Association Inc. (AJA) has launched a major fundraising drive aimed at raising funds for the building of its Cultural Center and to a lesser extent its scholarship and outreach programs. The first initiative in this project is the 1st MEGA CAR RAFFLE. The Grand Prize is a brand new 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA XLE which was on display at the Independence Ball held in August of this year. Other prizes include a First prize of a fabulous vacation at a Jamaican Resort, a second prize of a trip for 2 to Hawaii, and 10 consolation prizes. I assumed the presidency of this Association in January, following my election in October 2007. I gladly take this opportunity to extend greetings to all Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica living in the greater Atlanta area. Special greetings go to the entire membership of the Atlanta Jamaican Association. Let us make this a great year for our Association!

The Atlanta Jamaican Association has elected a new Executive Board for 2008, The election took place at the Annual General Meeting of the Association held at the Hillside Presbyterian Church Hall on October 13. Mr. Derrick Harvey, who was previously President for a period of three years, was again elected to that office.  read more »

Atlanta Jamaican Association Reaches Impressive Community Service Milestone

The Atlanta Jamaican Association (AJA) has reached a major milestone in community service.  Long recognized as the longest serving and probably the most prolific Caribbean organization in Atlanta, The AJA officially celebrates 30 years of service this year.

To mark this special achievement, The AJA will host a series of events during the course of the year.  The feature event will be a Commemorative Church Service and Community Awards Reception, to be held Sunday, October 21, 2007 in the Fellowship Hall at Hillside Presbyterian Church, 1879 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Georgia.   read more »
